Product Overview

This 12V 80Ah LiFePO4 battery is an integrated energy storage solution designed specifically for solar street lighting systems. It combines lithium iron phosphate cell technology with built-in BMS protection and MPPT functionality, enabling efficient energy storage and stable power output for off-grid lighting applications.

Compared with traditional lead-acid batteries commonly used in earlier solar street light systems, this lithium-based solution offers higher energy efficiency, reduced weight, easier installation, and significantly longer service life. It is engineered for outdoor environments where reliability, low maintenance, and long-term stability are required.

Discharge Performance

The battery supports a continuous discharge current of 40A, making it suitable for stable LED street light operation. It also supports short-term peak discharge of up to 60A for up to 10 seconds, ensuring reliable performance during load fluctuations.

The recommended discharge cut-off voltage is 10V, while the BMS protection system disconnects at 8.2V and restores operation at 8.6V. In abnormal conditions such as short circuits, protection is triggered within 100–300 microseconds to ensure system safety.

Charging System

Charging is controlled using a CC-CV method to ensure efficient and safe energy storage. The charging voltage range is set between 13.7V and 14.6V, while the recommended floating voltage is 13.5V to 14.3V for long-term stability.

The recommended charging current is 15A, with a maximum allowable charging current of 40A depending on system requirements. The BMS charging cut-off voltage is set at 15V to prevent overcharging and protect cell integrity.

Temperature Performance

The battery is designed for outdoor environments and supports a wide operating temperature range. It can discharge from -20°C to 60°C and charge between 0°C and 55°C. Storage temperature ranges from -20°C to 60°C.

To ensure safety under extreme conditions, the BMS includes high-temperature protection, which activates at 85°C and automatically shuts down the system when necessary.
